Wastewater

Wastewater & Surface Water – Organics

Water companies are under increasing pressure to prosecute polluters of wastewater networks. The most common pollutants are fats, oils & grease (FOG) which congeal when they enter drains and sewers resulting in blockages, fatbergs and potential floods.

Most commercial establishments must comply with consent levels set by the water company and fines for breaching the consents are increasing.

Lakes, ponds, rivers, canals etc. are generally labelled surface water. These assets are often neglected and become anaerobic (no oxygen) which results in stagnation, odours, algae and decimation of marine and wildlife. Equally, if the water becomes polluted with weeds, algae etc. it cannot be pumped, which in the event of a fire may prove catastrophic. We can even treat outbreaks of Cyanobacteria commonly known as Blue/Green algae which is highly toxic and dangerous to human life, deadly to aquatic/wildlife.

Additionally, we can digest the organic element within the silt layer in lakes, ponds and rivers thereby increasing capacity and reducing flood risk, whilst improving turbidity and dissolved oxygen levels.

The solution is to simply use an amount tablets (dosage dependent on size) dropped into the lake, pond, river to digest the organic layer within the silt build up. Reduces the carbon footprint impact by taking lorries off the road and eliminates the damage caused by traditional method of dredging, plus significant cost savings.
