Interceptors & Pollution – Hydrocarbons

All commercial properties in the must conform to building regulations. These stipulate the use of “interceptor pits”. They collect and manage harmful substances that wash off roads, loading bays and carparks. This can be anything from Palm and Oil, diesel, petrol, brake fluid etc.

These by-products of everyday life must not enter the water system and the interceptor pits prevent this from happening. The pits must be emptied on a regular basis (bi-annually to conform to ISO14001) by licensed companies that have the capability to deal with such products. They must be able to dispose of toxic waste correctly or provide a 100% environmentally responsible solution that can digest, both the long and short chain hydrocarbons in-situ.

Additionally, we can treat pollution incidents such as oil spills on surface water and soil, airplane fuel oil from runways, leachate lagoons and perform responsible cleaning of fuel oil storage vessels including road tankers, cargo ships etc.

The solution is to simply use 1 x tablet, dropped into the interceptor pit to digest the hydrocarbon build up. This method reduces the carbon footprint by taking lorries of the road and saves an average of 47% over traditional methods.
